Job Description Job Description Summary Good Shepherd Montessori School is seeking a caring, responsible, and confident Aftercare Supervisor to lead our afternoon program in a calm, nurturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values structure and consistency, and can create a warm sense of community at the end of the school day. Our aftercare program is a meaningful extension of the school day, offering children a safe, engaging, and peaceful transition from classroom to home. Duties Supervise and support children during after-school hours Maintain a calm, safe, and welcoming environment Lead age-appropriate activities, outdoor play, and quiet work time Communicate clearly and kindly with children, families, and staff Model respectful behavior and positive guidance Ensure all licensing, safety, and school policies are followed Requirements Experience working with children (school, childcare, or similar setting) Strong organizational and leadership skills Warm, patient, and dependable demeanor Ability to guide children with consistency and care Montessori experience is a plus, but not required Must meet all Washington State DCYF licensing requirements , including: Active MERIT account Completion of required STARS training hours Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) Cleared DCYF background check and ongoing compliance Nice To Haves Catechesis of the Good Shepherd certificate. Montessori Diploma/ training.
