We believe in embracing our core values and in the power of People, Places and Relationships.At MCRT the Senior Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager(s) with the planning and daily execution in the construction of various types of high density residential and mixed use projects. The position will report to the Senior Project Manager. The position's key responsibilities will include, in part, maintaining certain aspects of the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager, managing the process of subcontractor requests for information (RFIs), subcontractor contract compliance related to the timely supply of complete submittals and the review and approval of such along with coordinating the timely delivery of materials. The Senior Project Engineer will take a leading role in the updating and distribution of various forms of project logs and monthly reports as required. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Project Financial Responsibilitieso Assists project management in proactively managing and controlling project expenses,administering owner and subcontractor billings and identifying work not covered bysubcontractor's scope of work/budget. Supporting various project office functions andtasks related to and necessary in ensuring the completions of projects on schedule andwithin budget.Preconstruction Serviceso Establish procedures for controlling contract drawingso Initiate set-up of the job management systemo Assists with the preparation of subcontractor scopes of work, bid package developmentand distribution and the identification and solicitation of subcontractors and supplierso Participates in the constructability reviews of various forms construction documentation.Project Start-up and Schedulingo Assists in the development and implementation of the site utilization plano Assists Project Manager/Superintendent in the review and coordination of the ProjectSafety and Loss Prevention and Quality Control Programo Manages pre-work subcontractor orientation meetings ensuring documentation iscompleted for each subcontractor including material deliveries, site specific safety andquality issueso Manages submittal and RFI logs and the coordination and distribution of drawings withsubcontractors and the Superintendent. Responsible for reviewing and processing allsubmittal data and shop drawings to ensure project schedules are expedited and materialsare delivered on timeo Serves as the onsite quality manager for assigned trades scheduling and verifyingsubcontractor deliveries meet approved submittal requirementso Attends and participates in meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner representatives,provides information and assists the Project Manager in the preparation of progressreports/meeting minutes Education and/or Experience --- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other related field. --- Minimum of 2 years of project engineer experience and 4 years of construction related trade experience. Skills/Specialized Knowledge --- Demonstrates leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict. --- Ability to communicate well in English both written and verbally. --- Creates, manages and/or revises schedules and related assignments based on key priorities of assigned projects, considering the importance between work and life activities for self and others. --- Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer and company communication tools, such as email, Internet, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Office, Outlook). --- Knowledge and experience in the use of project management and scheduling software. Experience in the use of Procore and Textura a plus. --- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. --- Organizes people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results. --- Makes decisions under tight deadlines, sometimes with incomplete information.
