your future with us. Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking
for Engine Installations/Auxiliary Power Unit Engineers (Associate
or Experienced) to join our team in Everett, WA. The B-52
Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) is modernizing the
B-52H airframe with a new underwing twin pod propulsion package
featuring new F130 engines provided by Rolls-Royce. Our team will
be retrofitting an airframe which conducted its first flight in
1952 and entered service in 1955. The CERP program is a
collaboration between BCA and BDS that will enable the USAF to
efficiently operate the B-52 through 2050. In addition to replacing
the main engines, the CERP program is also adding two new APUs to
the outboard struts to give the B-52 internal starting capability.
The Auxiliary Starter Air Unit (ASAU) and Installation Analysis
team is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as we
complete the second phase of the program culminating with CDR in
March 2026 and continuing through detail design, component testing,
hardware build up, ASAU and main engine development testing,
ultimately aircraft modification and flight testing. We’re
responsible for the detailed design, performance and safety
analysis, test and certification of the ASAU and the ASAU’s
installation. Our team also leads the analysis, test and
certification of the engine installation across a broad range of
technical topics including engine fuel & oil systems, fire safety,
in-flight restarting, component cooling, and accessory gear box
integration. We also provide military certification technical
support to the customer, the United States Air Force.
Responsibilities: Supports the development, qualification, and
military certification of the ASAU/main engine installation onto
the B-52H platform. Supports requirements definition, validation
and verification in support of military airworthiness
certification. Supports the generation of certification data in
coordination with the USAF. Supports trade studies for ASAU
installation architecture. Authors and approve test plans to
execute component and engine/airplane level testing that will be
used to support compliance to military airworthiness requirements.
Coordinates with Honeywell, the USAF and, Rolls-Royce and component
suppliers. Owns B-52 main engine installations analysis engineering
projects. Drives team activities which support the development,
qualification, and military certification of the twin pod engine
installation onto the B-52J platform in the areas of fire safety,
component cooling, fuel heating/oil cooling, engine starting, among
others. Owns requirements definition, validation and verification
in support of military airworthiness certification. Owns the
generation of certification data in coordination with the USAF.
Drives trade studies for engine installation architecture. Basic
Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science
degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering 3 years of
related work experience Skills & Qualifications: 5 years of related
work experience or an equivalent combination of education and
experience Experience with engine design, analysis and/or engine
fire safety Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly
communicate verbally and written is required Self-motivated and
willing to work in a highly dynamic, often ambiguous, team oriented
atmosphere Must be able to manage and prioritize competing
priorities in support of key milestones Represent the company
professionally in demanding environments involving suppliers and
USAF leadership Ability to formulate proposals and problem solve
with limited definition of data and requirements Able to work
effectively with geographically diverse design centers to
accomplish desired results Experience with APUs is preferred
Experience with Interface Control Documents and Controls preferred
Experience with FAA or military certification is preferred Strong
interpersonal skills and the ability to drive projects to closure
Desire to work with counterparts in Oklahoma City, Rolls-Royce,
Honeywell and the Air Force Experience working complex projects
Experience with development programs Some travel may be required

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well
as market and business considerations. Summary pay range Associate
(Level 2): $94,350 - $127,650 Summary pay range Experienced (Level
