The position serves as the chief information officer for the University. As a senior-level executive, the Associate Vice President (AVP)/CIO sets the overall direction for technology through strategic planning and evaluation. He or she provides leadership, planning oversight and management for all areas of IT strategy, development and implementation. The AVP provides leadership for the Information Technology Services (ITS) department, which operates and maintains network and systems administration, computing, telecommunication, databases, equipment integration, and technology services that meet the needs of the administrative, educational, and research programs of the University.
