The Vice President, Foodservice Sales is responsible for the strategy, execution, and profitability of Company’s restaurant distribution business unit. The Vice President will create the company’s unique sales and market position, build and lead the team responsible for managing the segment, identify clients that fit our strategy, and build productive relationships with customers, vendor partners and industry trade groups. This person will oversee all aspects of business development, customer account management, and lead our product assortment and marketing strategy. The Vice President, Foodservice will have full P&L responsibility for Company’s restaurant distribution business unit.
The main responsibilities of the position are as follows: Develop and own the strategic plan to drive Company’s growth and success in the restaurant distribution market segment with full P&L responsibility. Build a team of foodservice professionals to execute the restaurant distribution sales and marketing strategy. Oversee teams responsible for sales, customer support, and product merchandising. Develop and maintain strong and loyal relationships with current restaurant customers. Create & manage prospective customer pipeline, identify targets that support company strategy and secure new relationships with targeted customers. Manage sales process, contract negotiation and work collaboratively with Executive Team to analyze business opportunities and create profitable customer / vendor partnerships. Oversee customer pricing strategy and contract compliance process. Build relationships with key vendors to create a competitive product mix and meet customer needs while optimizing our supply chain. Ensure vendor strategy maximizes relationships for buying power, marketing support, and rebate revenue. Create product assortment anchored by national brands and identify private label growth opportunities. Develop, measure and deliver on key performance metrics. Lead cross-functional teams to execute restaurant distribution objectives across company. Collaborate with Company’s Marketing Team to drive brand strategy for the restaurant distribution business unit. Growth and development of restaurant distribution sales and marketing team. Customer ROI, after considering cost to serve, and required inventory and infrastructure investment. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and 5+ years of experience in related field. Deep experience and connections within the restaurant foodservice industry. Relevant experience in leadership, sales, restaurant vendor management, business development, marketing, supply chain, and / or category management in the food industry. Direct management experience within in a high growth, highly customer-centric team; entrepreneurial mindset in a growth/startup/newly launched division environment or similar structure will be preferred. Excellent communication and relationship building skills across all levels and disciplines. Excellent judgment and analytical decision making utilizing current technology tools to gather data. Skilled in strategic planning and project management. Negotiation skills with experience in customer and vendor contracts. Professional and impactful presentation skills; written, verbal and multi-media. Proficient with current technology, MS Office, CRM, mobile platforms and related tools.
