A registered nurse (RN) with experience in schools is needed to provide one-on-one care for a 2nd-grade student with a tracheostomy tube in an elementary school setting in Yelm, WA. This role requires a proactive RN to ensure the students safety during school hours by being available to respond if any issues arise with the trach tube. Flexibility is key, as the position involves working two days per week, preferably Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct nursing care and supervision for a 2nd-grade student with a trach tube - Monitor the students condition throughout the school day and intervene as necessary to maintain airway safety - Coordinate with transportation staff; while the student currently buses with the nurse, bussing arrangements may be flexible - Communicate effectively with school staff and any other caregivers involved in the students care - Maintain compliance with school policies and state nursing regulations Qualifications: - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State - Experience working with pediatric patients, including tracheostomy care - Previous school nursing experience preferred but not required - Ability to work independently without on-site supervision - Strong communication and critical thinking skills Location: Elementary school in Yelm, WA Schedule: Two days per week, ideally Tuesday and Thursday, 8:45 a.m.3:30 p.m. Contract Type: School Year Contract (CSY) This opportunity offers the chance to make a direct impact on a students health and educational experience through specialized nursing care.
