Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Silverdale,
Washington, 98383! Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13
weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days; Every other weekend (Saturday and
Sunday) Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2
years of experience License: Current Registered Nurse License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; preference for intermediate or
advanced FHM Must-Have: LDRP experience is required. Must be
comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in
C-sections. Must be comfortable assisting with catching babies and
transitioning infants. Will consider candidates with 1 year of
experience if they have multiple prior travel assignments. RNs are
required to titrate drips. Description: The unit has a total of 34
delivery beds and 14 postpartum beds. There are 2 OR suites
available for C-sections and 2 triage beds. On average, the unit
handles approximately 150-180 births per month, with a total of
2,133 deliveries in 2022. The RN-to-patient ratio adheres to AWHONN
guidelines of 1:2 for Labor and Delivery and 1:3-4 for couplets.
Common diagnoses include high-risk pregnancies, preeclampsia,
diabetes, and social/psych issues. There is one surgical tech and a
patient care assistant on each shift. OB hospitalists are available
24/7, assisting with triage and emergent cases. Neonatal Nurse
Practitioners are also on-site 24/7, with anesthesia providers
available around the clock. RT equipment, including vents, CPAP,
and BiPap, is provided in the family birth area. The facility
employs a telemetry monitoring system, and RNs are required to read
their own strips. The shift schedule allows for block scheduling
when requested, with weekend requirements of every other weekend.
The rotation for holiday shifts is performed in conjunction with
permanent staff. During standby, response time is set at 45
minutes. Travelers need to be competent in postpartum care and must
be able to assist with low-risk deliveries. Scrubs are provided,
and lockers are available for use. An 8-hour compliance class
followed by 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation is required for
all staff. The manager fosters a friendly work environment,
providing feedback to ensure quality care. All staff are encouraged
to remain open and adaptable to workflows, policies, and
procedures. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4
shifts during a 13-week assignment. The primary charting system
