*JOB OVERVIEW:* Under the direction of the Director or Manager of Radiology Services, the Medical Director, and the nuclear medicine team, performs Nuclear Medicine exams, Stress Tests, and Spectral CT exams at a technical level requiring limited or no supervision. Performs a variety of procedures that requires independent judgement for the preparation, calibration, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, as well as performing quality control, diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures.*AREA OF ASSIGNMENT:* Radiology*HOURS OF* *WORK:* Variable*RESPONSIBLE TO:* Director / Manager, Radiology*PREREQUISITES:** Graduate of a program accredited by JCERT or the JRCNMT, or Registered with the NMTCB or with ARRT, or equivalent training, required.* Current Nuclear Medicine CNMT and/or ARRT(N) Certification, required.* Current WA State Radiologic Technologist Certification, required.* Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers, required.* 1 year of working in Nuclear Medicine, preferred.* Radiology Technologist RT(R) Certification, preferred.* CT Technologist RT(CT) Certification Preferred or obtain Certification within 1 year of employment, required.*QUALIFICATIONS:** Flexibility, adaptability and the balance to keep organized and positive in a climate of constant change.* Demonstrates professionalism and effective interpersonal skills in a diverse population.* Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with all customers.* Demonstrates the ability to maintain and convey a positive team concept.* Ability to communicate verbally and in written format in English.* Demonstrates good decision-making skills and quick follow through on problem issues.* Demonstrates the ability to provide for the educational needs of all areas of responsibility.* Neat and well-groomed in appearance.*UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:*Requires working as a member of a team, under the direction of the Radiology Manager or Director and the Medical Director to ensure efficient operation of the nuclear medicine department. Requires full range of body motion. Requires handling, lifting, and transferring patients and equipment, standing, sitting, walking swiftly, reaching overhead, pulling, and bending.Requires the ability to effectively communicate with other staff, physicians, and patients. Requires working under changing conditions depending on the schedules of the department. Includes the potential for exposure to body fluids and other conditions common to hospitals. Requires transporting patients via wheelchair, stretcher, and bed throughout the facility.Requires skills in answering the phone. Requires knowledge in the use of information systems and acquiring/transferring imaging data electronically.*PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:** Demonstrates proficiency in all nuclear medicine procedures, using initiative in special positioning needs of individual patients.* Practices good radiation safety procedure pertaining to the preparation, handling, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals. (ALARA)* Performs Spectral CT exams that include IV and Oral contrast utilizing all screening and safety precautions.* Facilities Cardiology PA's with stress test to include: setting up for the exam, hooking a patient up to a 12-lead EKG,* Performs/maintains all department records pertaining to quality control, radiation monitoring and surveys, and radioactive materials handling.* Orders radiopharmaceuticals according to both prescribed schedules, and on a stat basis.* Operates all imaging and auxiliary equipment according to written procedures/protocols, demonstrating proficiency on all equipment.* Reports/records all equipment problems promptly, and initiates service calls as necessary.* Responsible for documenting pertinent clinical history and symptoms.* Participates in the utilization and support of the PACS systems.* Utilize computer systems to obtain lab values, enter exam charges, schedule patients, enter orders, access reports, etc.* Assists in the writing and revision of procedures/protocols.* Assists in evaluating and standardizing new procedures.* Maintain a working knowledge of medications used in nuclear medicine* Responsible for the physiological monitoring and care of patients during nuclear medicine procedures.* Maintain proficiency in starting IV lines and follows proper injection procedure.* Takes on-call responsibility as scheduled and arrives within 30 minutes of notification* Maintains a positive relationship with physicians and their staff.* Develop and maintain respectful relationships with all customers.* Transports patients as necessary, utilizing appropriate safety resources.* Provide documentation of personal credentials per department policy and maintain education record.* Other related duties as assigned.*Please apply directly to our careers page: Valley Medical Center - CareersJob Type: Full-timePay: $48.12 - $80.71 per hourBenefits:* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Referral program* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Day shift* Monday to FridayAbility to Commute:* Renton, WA 98055 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Renton, WA 98055: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In personby Jobble
