This office is responsible for managing the Washington State Paid Family and Medical Leave Trust Fund and the cash management activities of the department. In this role, you will assist in providing management of state accounting functions for all Paid Family and Medical Leave Treasure financial activities and state reporting.It is estimated that up to 2/3 of Washingtonians will have an event that results in them being eligible for Paid Family and Medical Leave.   • Special Programs_ (additional benefits)_DutiesAs a Fiscal Analyst 3 for the Paid Family and Medical Leave Treasury Office, your primary responsibility will be to assist with assuring compliance of financial policies and procedures issued by the department of OFM regulations. You will also assist in the management of the unit's financial and accounting operations and activities.Some of what you'll be doing:
    • Analyze, prepare, process and complete financial transactions and corrections. Perform accounting activities in an accounts payable and receivable system.
    • Use AFRS to upload monthly financial data, record interagency receivables for PFML payments, and complete PFML warrant cancellations and overpayments.
    • Perform complex financial analysis; review financial actions for accuracy; reconcile internal systems against AFRS transactions.
    • Responding to questions regarding compliance with financial or administrative requirements.QualificationsRequired qualifications:A Bachelor's degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting AND two years of relevant professional experience.ORA combination of education and/or relevant experience.** Professional experience may substitute for education but not for the credit hours.** A Master's degree in a financial related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant can be substituted for one year of professional experience.Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to those that not only meet the minimum qualifications, but also possess:
      • Demonstrated knowledge of Agency Financial Reporting Systems (AFRS).
